Fantasy football with friends, no league required
Draft Duel is a free way to play fantasy football with friends one week at a time. There's no league to set up, no commissioner to chase and no 17-week schedule. You pick a friend, draft against each other in real time, and that week's games decide who gets bragging rights.
Beat your rivals. Every week. In 5 minutes.
Invite with a link
Start a friend duel and share the link or code. Your friend signs up free, joins, and the real-time draft begins.
Same couch? Pass the phone
Local pass-and-play runs the whole draft on one device. Hand it back and forth as each turn comes up.
Keep the rivalry going
Rematches carry your series forward week after week, and result cards make it easy to show the group chat who won.
How a weekly duel with a friend works
- Start a duel. Create a free account at draftduel.us and challenge a friend with a link or code.
- Draft in real time. A random NFL team is drawn and you both pick a player from it. Then a new team is drawn for the next round. Every pick has a 90-second clock.
- Fill nine starters. QB, 2 RB, 2 WR, TE, FLEX, K and DEF. There's no bench, so every pick plays.
- Let the games play out. Your starters score PPR points in that week's real games. The higher total wins.
Next week, do it again with a brand-new draft.
Make it a weekly ritual
Season-long leagues tend to go quiet by midseason. A weekly duel gives your group something to look forward to every week instead. Draft during lunch, on the couch before the game, or online with a friend in another city. A draft takes 5 minutes, so it fits into a normal week.
Because each week stands on its own, nobody is stuck with a dead team in October. Lost last week? Run it back. Won? You get to defend it.
Fair for the friend who doesn't study rankings
Every round, both of you draft from the same randomly drawn team. You can't just queue up a list of the top players. You have to make the best pick from whatever team comes up, so the friend who reads rankings all week doesn't automatically run away with it, and a newer fan can still win.
Play the whole group, one rival at a time
Draft Duel is one on one, so you can line up a different friend each week, or keep a running rivalry with the same one. Either way, each matchup is settled the same week it's drafted.

Frequently asked questions
How do I play fantasy football with a friend?
Create a free account, start a friend duel and send your friend the share link or code. Once they join, you draft head to head in real time.
How can I play fantasy football with friends without a league?
Use a one-on-one weekly game like Draft Duel. You create a free account, send a friend a link or code, and draft against each other in real time for that week only. There's no league, commissioner or season schedule.
Can I play fantasy football against just one friend?
Yes. Every Draft Duel matchup is head-to-head between two people. You both draft nine starters and the higher PPR score that week wins.
Is there a free weekly fantasy football game to play with friends?
Draft Duel is free to play. You draft a new team every week, so you can play a friend once or every week of the season.
Can we play on one phone?
Yes. Local pass-and-play lets two people draft on a single device, passing it back and forth each turn.
Does my friend need an account?
For a friend duel over a link, yes, and accounts are free. For pass-and-play on one device, the second player just enters a name.
What if my friend knows way more about fantasy football than me?
Each round both players draft from the same randomly drawn NFL team, so knowing the top-100 rankings matters less. You have to make the best pick from the team in front of you.
Can I play a different friend every week?
Yes. Every week is a fresh draft and a new matchup, so you can challenge the same rival again or pick someone new.
