A one-week fantasy draft with a twist

A Draft Duel draft is not a 12-team snake draft that eats your evening. It is two managers, one roster each, built for one NFL week, in real time.

Beat your rivals. Every week. In 5 minutes.

A random team every turn

Each turn a random NFL team is drawn and you pick one player from that team. Then your opponent picks from the same team, and first pick alternates. You cannot just queue up the top names. You have to make the most of the draw.

90-second pick clock

Every pick is on the clock. If time runs out, the best available player who fits your roster is picked for you, so a draft never stalls.

Only picks that fit

You can only draft a player who fits an open slot. If nobody on the drawn team fits, your turn passes to your opponent. If neither of you has a fit, a new team is drawn.

What you are drafting

Fill QB, 2 RB, 2 WR, TE, FLEX, K and DEF. No bench, so every pick plays.

Draft day, step by step

  1. Start a duel and bring an opponent: a friend, a stranger, or someone sitting next to you.
  2. A random NFL team is drawn. Whoever has first pick takes a player from it, then the other manager picks from the same team.
  3. A new team is drawn and first pick flips. Repeat until both lineups have all nine starters.
  4. Done before the first kickoff? Your team scores PPR points in that week's games.

A traditional fantasy draft can take an entire evening: a dozen managers, 15-plus rounds and someone who's always late. Draft Duel's draft is built to be fast. It's just you and one opponent, nine picks each, and a draft takes 5 minutes.

Why the draft is so quick

Strategy, in a small package

A random team each round changes how you draft. Do you grab the quarterback now, or take the receiver your opponent would want? Do you fill FLEX early or save it for later in case a better skill player comes up? Since you both see the same team, every pick is a decision about you and your opponent at the same time.

Then the week decides it

Once the draft is done, your nine starters score PPR points in that week's real NFL games. The higher total wins the duel. Next week, you draft a whole new team.

Frequently asked questions

How long does the draft take?

Two managers fill nine starters each, with a 90-second clock per pick, so it is far shorter than a full league draft. A draft takes 5 minutes.

Is there a fast fantasy football draft I can do in a few minutes?

Yes. Draft Duel is a one-on-one draft with nine picks each and a 90-second pick clock. A draft takes 5 minutes.

What happens if I run out of time on a pick?

The best available player from the drawn team who fits an open slot on your roster is picked for you automatically.

Can I pick any player I want?

No. Each turn a random NFL team is drawn and you choose a player from that team, so every draft plays out differently.

How does a random-team fantasy draft work?

Each round a random NFL team is drawn and both managers pick one player from it, with first pick switching every round. Then a new team is drawn.

Can I do a head-to-head fantasy draft against one person?

Yes. Every Draft Duel draft is one on one. You can play a friend with a link, a random opponent online, or someone next to you with pass-and-play.

How many players do you draft in Draft Duel?

Nine starters: QB, 2 RB, 2 WR, TE, FLEX (any RB, WR or TE), K and DEF. There's no bench.

When do I have to draft?

Draft before the week's first game kicks off to use every team. Late drafts stay open until the Sunday 4:25 PM ET kickoffs, but teams whose game has already started are left out. Scoring runs for that week's games.
